In collaboration with PlanBørnefonden, BLUETOWN and Plan International Ghana have commenced a joint digital inclusion project that seeks to create digital and vocational skills through enabling inclusive access and active use of the internet as well as e-services in the previously under-connected TVET sector. The project is in response to some developmental challenges in Ghana including the underfunded TVET sector, high youth unemployment rate, lack of access to internet and technology, as well as the use of a passive learning paradigm in education. The project is piloted in two schools in the eastern region of Ghana: Koforidua Technical Institute (KOTECH) and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). As part of the project, BLUETOWN has installed Wi-Fi access points at major points in the schools’ campuses as well as implemented a data allocation system. Every month, BLUETOWN provides data to 1000 teachers and students for their e-Learning purposes and online research to promote digitized education.
